Women across the world spend multiple hours and a lot of money on lipsticks, liners, plumpers and glosses trying to get that perfect shape and perfect color. The Consultation:

I offer free 15 minute scheduled phone consultations. If you prefer an in-depth consultation, it is advised to make an appointment to speak with a technician in person. The cost for a consultation is $50. The fee is waived only if the procedure is scheduled and performed on the same day. If the procedure is not performed on same day of tattoo service, a consultation fee of $50 is still applied. If the procedure is booked on a later date, a $50 fee will still apply.

Eyebrows, eyeliner and lips will be drawn on with pencil first so the artist and the client agree to the shape. There may be limits to the style and type of tattoo a client is requesting. There is a certain code of ethics when it comes to specific requests from clients. Please see FAQs and continue reading this document for detailed information.

A color will be chosen by the technician based on the client’s skin type. Colors will be shown to clients and placed on the skin of the forehead prior to the procedure so that clients are comfortable with the color choice. Once the client agrees, the procedure will be performed.

MOST IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
1.) If you are having a lip procedure and have any history of coldsores/feverblisters/herpes

simplex, you will be required to contact your physician to obtain the proper prescription to prevent such outbreaks as well as written documentation showing the doctor’s approval to continue with procedure. If required, Valtrex must be taken at least 3 days prior to procedure and 7 days after the procedure.

  1. 2.)  Refrain from the use of alcohol, aspirin, aspirin-containing medications, ibuprofen, or other blood-thinning medications for seven days before and two days after any procedure. No medication should ever be discontinued without first consulting your physician. If there is excessive bleeding during procedure it may hinder pigment from properly entering into the skin.

  2. 3.)  Refrain from judgment-altering drugs for at least 24 hours prior to any procedure. No medication should ever be discontinued without first consulting your physician.

  3. 4.)  If you are on Coumadin, ask your medical professional if you can stop taking it at least one month before cosmetic tattoo procedure. If you can not, then you are NOT a good candidate for cosmetic tattoo procedures. No medication should ever be discontinued without first consulting your physician.

  4. 5.)  If you have heart valve disease, or there is a chance that you might have heart valve disease, you must advise your cosmetic tattoo artist. If so, you are not a candidate for permanent tattoo procedures.

  5. 6.)  If you are taking Accutane, you are not permitted to receive permanent tattoo procedures. This enhances your chances of scarring.

  6. 7.)  Following the eyeliner procedures as a safety precaution, we recommend that you have someone available to accompany you or drive you home. Eyes may become dilated after the use of lidocaine ointment. Eyes will also be swollen and sensitive post procedure.

  7. 8.)  Do not wear contact lenses during or immediately following the eyeliner procedure. Remember to bring your glasses. You may resume wearing your contact lenses as soon as your eyes return to their pre-tattooed condition.

  8. 9.)  If you are using Latisse, you must stop at least 2weeks before your eyeliner procedure, and resume once eyeliner procedure is fully healed.

10.) If you have any allergies, specifically skin allergies, you must let your tattoo artist know prior to your appointment. A skin test can be performed with pigments before the procedure if so desired. While in most cases it is not necessary, if a person suffers from many skin allergies, it may be something to consider before any cosmetic tattoo procedures take place.

ADDITIONAL PRE-PROCEDURE INFORMATION:

  1. 1.)  Please let the cosmetic tattoo artist know about any allergies, specifically skin allergies, or any diseases you have or may have, or any medication you are taking. Let the artist know if you are pregnant or breast-feeding. Please advise your artist if you are using any Rein-A, Retrinol, Renova, or Latisse products.

  2. 2.)  When planning your procedure, some clients feel it best not to make any social plans for a day or two following any procedure. It is always best to avoid these procedures within months prior to important life events such as weddings. Procedures may take longer than expected to be complete under some circumstances.

  3. 3.)  You may arrive in your normal makeup if so desired to showcase how you pencil or wear your own makeup. Your technician will make suggestions to clients during the consultation. Jessica will use her knowledge and expertise to draw on eyeliner, eyebrows or lip line herself. You may have requests, but if your request is against the code of ethics of permanent makeup, your technician will not be able to preform the cosmetic tattoo. You may bring your lip color or brow/eyliner pencils on the day of your procedure.

  4. 4.)  Any tweezing or waxing should be done at least 48 hours prior to the procedure; electrolysis no less than five days before. Do not resume any method of hair removal for at least two weeks.

  5. 5.)  Any eyelash or eyebrow tinting or eyelash curling should be done no sooner than 48 hours before, or two weeks after the procedure.

WHAT YOU MUST UNDERSTAND PRIOR TO YOUR PROCEDURE:

1.) Permanent cosmetic tattooing is a TATTOO. While it will fade, the ink is always present in the skin. This is NOT semi-permanent. While the color may fade to almost invisible if colorboosts (learn about colorboosts below) are not performed, it is still technically inside of the skin, therefore making it a permanent tattoo.

  1. 2.)  After each permanent makeup procedure, eyebrows, eyeliner, or lips will appear very dark and vivid, even swollen. Shape and color will be distorted until fully healed. Color will change every week until the completed 4-6 weeks.

  2. 3.)  Permanent makeup will peel and flake like a sunburn during the healing process. Eyebrows may appear to be maroon or red after initial peeling. This is not the color of your eyebrows. It is your skin healing after a traumatic procedure. Color will continue to change each week thereafter until desired results are achieved.

  3. 4.)  2 visits with eyebrows and eyeliner procedures are crucial to achieving your desired results. These visits must be 4-6 weeks apart. Healing takes place during the interim. Upfront price includes both sessions.

    1. The first visit of the process is the Saturation visit. The following visit is known as the Focus visit. As the names imply, the Saturation visit accomplishes the basic design and color saturation, and the Focus visit addresses perfection by focusing on balance, symmetry and detail of the healed result. The charge for the Focus visit is included with the original price, as long as it is completed within the recommended 4-6 weeks interim of the previous visit.

    2. 2 sessions are necessary because once the first procedure peels and flakes, it will take a percentage of the ink out with it. This is normal. You will have some light spots and some areas that are not perfect. This is okay and totally normal. This is what the second session is for.

  4. 5.)  While the price includes the first two sessions, additional sessions may be needed to achieve desired results. These additional sessions are charged based on time and products used. Price may range for additional visits anywhere from $50-$350.

  5. 6.)  Makeup may be used once procedures heal to additionally enhance cosmetic makeup. For example, extra eyebrow pencil or eyeliner can be used to create a more dramatic look. Cosmetic tattooing is meant for an everyday/natural look, NOT not for permanent dramatic makeup. It is against the code of ethics of a cosmetic tattoo professional. Lipstick or lip-gloss can be worn over lip color to create a more intense look as well. Permanent makeup is meant to be your everyday makeup, not your “go-out” makeup.

  6. 7.)  Although your makeup is permanent, it will fade over time. You will need colorboosts every so often. Colorboosts are only priced as an individual/single session. Eyebrows will need a colorboost anywhere from 8 months-2 years. Eyeliner will need a colorboost anywhere from 1-10 years. Lips will need a colorboost anywhere from 1-5 years. Pricing for colorboosts are located in the pricing section.

  1. Some common reasons for fading or color changes to your permanent makeup are(but not limited to): following proper aftercare instructions as advised by your technician, sun exposure, tanning beds, medications, photo-facials, glycolic, benzoyl peroxide, any acid from face wash, chemical peels, Retin-A, or other aggressive skin care.

  2. Exposure to the above will prematurely fade your makeup. It is advised to avoid these areas when dealing with or using any of the above. However, fading is most likely due to sun (ultra violet) exposure.

c. 30 SPF Color Guard for tattoos is recommended daily, even in the winter, to preserve tattoos. SPF Chap Stick will work as well on any permanent makeup areas.

    RISKS with Permanent Tattooed Makeup:

1.) Corneal abrasions may result after an eyeliner procedure. Although rare, it can happen. If it does, please consult your cosmetic tattoo artist and eye doctor immediately. Saline solution and sterile water are used consistently throughout an eyeliner procedure to avoid such risks. The utmost care and precision is used during your procedure for your safety.

a. Corneal Abrasions: A corneal abrasion is a scratch on the eye's cornea. It can be caused by pigment, dirt, sand, sawdust, ash, or some other foreign matter entering your eye and getting caught under the eyelid. It can be caused by placing contacts in eyes too early after a procedure or rubbing your eyes too often.

  1. Symptoms: feeling like you have sand or grit in your eye, burning, redness, sensitivity to light, blurred or loss of vision, eye pain, tearing, etc.

  2. Treatment: antibiotic eye drops or ointment, sometimes medication, sometimes an eye patch.

  1. 2.)  Migrating Ink is a risk. Although it is extremely rare, it is possible. When ink hits the skin, it can migrate and splatter throughout the skin. Usually, this is only a risk if someone requests eyeliner to be connected in the corner of the eye from the bottom to the top. We always advise not to connect the eyeliner to avoid this risk.

  2. 3.)  Sneezing, coughing, twitching, excessive talking, and/or moving during your procedure can cause the hand of the tattoo artist to move or tattoo an area that is not meant to be tattooed. A tattoo artist is used to minor movement and is trained to avoid such risks. However, sometimes this is unavoidable. Please try to calm your nerves before your procedure so that you can lay still and relaxed. If medication is needed before hand (Xanax, Valium), please consult your medical professional.

  1. 4.)  Skin conditions, such as diabetes, and others, can cause the skin to scab or take longer to heal than other clients.

  2. 5.)  Allergic reactions can occur. We have medical professions on standby if this does occur.

6.) Infection to the area can occur. Specific take home instructions are provided in order to prevent infection. However, infection is still a possibility. If the area is swollen, red, or burning for an extended period of time, please call your tattoo artist and your medical professional.

7.) Although needles and equipment are always new and sterile, a client and tattoo artist can be at risk for blood borne pathogens, such as hepatitis B and C, HIV and AIDs. Extreme caution and cleanliness is taken to ensure the safety of the artist and client in order to avoid the above.
